The Administrative Services Division is comprised of the Fiscal Unit, the Personnel Unit, and the Recruiting and Background Investigations Unit. The Division is responsible for all fiscal planning for the Portsmouth Police Department, as well as handling all personnel matters, payroll, recruiting, conducting background investigations of Department applicants, and accounts receivable. The Division is also responsible for drafting and monitoring the Department’s annual budget (as approved by City Council). The Division is commanded by a Lieutenant, and has one sworn Recruiter, and several civilian Administrative support personnel.
